ELG Sweet Boutique

Our Story

ELG Sweet Boutique is a unique establishment that goes beyond being an ice cream parlor and dessert shop. ELG Sweet Boutique is a testament to the impact of Envision Lead Grow (ELG), an organization created by Dr. Angela Reddix. Under Dr. Reddix’s leadership, ELG has impacted more than 4,000 girls and women through entrepreneurship education and leadership programming. Six Fast Track ELG girls have transformed into the next level of entrepreneurs, creating a brick-and-mortar business known as ELG Sweet Boutique. It is the place to get delicious desserts and leave feeling inspired.  It is where sweetness meets empowerment.

Flavorful Feedback

I have had the distinct pleasure of visiting ELG Sweet Boutique with various friends and family members on several occasions to share the amazing story of its formation, and enjoy the sweet treats! The mission, atmosphere, staff, mural, creative ice cream names, and experience are all inviting and leave a lasting impression.

This little place is just what downtown Portsmouth needed. It was founded by local young women from our area who have been a part of the Envision, Lead, Grow Program run by local business women affiliated with the Mustard Seed Place. They envisioned, planned and executed this shop. It is staffed by other young ladies that are part of the program. There are many yummy options available to ice cream lovers, young and young at heart. There are a couple of tables and bar seating. The bar seating looks out over town square and High Street. The staff were lovely and friendly. This bright spot reminded me so much of an old time ice cream parlor. We will be back to enjoy ice cream at this great little place.

Yum, yum!! These young ladies are serving up some delicious ice cream and shakes on High Street! This was some of the best COFFEE ice cream I’ve had in quite a while! Lovely venue and wonderful service!

My first time here and this place is AMAZING. It’s clean, cozy and quaint. I took my clients here because I heard so much about these young, black owned, entrepreneur ladies building generational wealth and knowledge of the industry. But wait, let me tell you about the banana pudding ice cream that was loaded with cookies, bananas and sweet cream, so yummy. I will be back for the Oatmeal Pie ice cream. I highly recommend this place. Also, I enjoyed the great conversation with the young lady that serviced us. Kudos to the founders of ELG Sweet Boutique!
