Envision Lead Grow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Angela D. Reddix, a passionate mentor and advisor to the next generation of young girls and women and a leading advocate for entrepreneurship as a way of creating positive transformation in the world. Dr. Reddix also serves as President & CEO of ARDX, an award-winning healthcare management and IT consulting firm dedicated to improving the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable populations. ELG’s vision is to transform communities of poverty into communities of prosperity through the promise of middle school girls. ELG’s signature program introduces entrepreneurship to girls through sleepaway camps, year-round mentoring, monthly webinars and end of-the-year conferences. Through this repeated exposure and practice, girls develop entrepreneurial, STEAM-infused skills that allow them to contribute to and stimulate local economies. Girls learn self-efficacy, self-control, conscientiousness, delayed gratification, and personal leadership. ELG’s curriculum is derived from Dr. Reddix’s “8 Seeds to Success in Business,” the blueprint she used to grow her firm into and award-winning organization in under a decade. Our stats show that for girls who participated in our program 89% reported that ELG helped them feel more confident, 95% reported experiencing personal growth during the ELG program, 85% reported that ELG helped them feel more comfortable with public speaking, 100% reported planning to complete both high school and college.
However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, ELG’s signature program was disrupted. Due to worsening conditions, such as school and university delays/cancellations, mandatory quarantines, economic hardship, etc., ELG has developed ELG 2.0 Virtual Immersion, a contingency program to be delivered and completed virtually for deserving girls. Virtual learning days will feature motivational presentations from female business executives; success stories involving local Girl Bosses; self-discovery; lessons in creativity and entrepreneurship; applied learning in STEAM; and business pitches. Unfortunately, many of the girls that we serve will experience food insecurity and may have challenges in accessing technology. We know that we are going to come out of this, and we want to make sure that our girls don’t take five steps back in the process. Your contribution on #GIVINGTUESDAYNOW will help to provide Care Packages which will include healthy, nutritious snacks & learning materials, Wi-Fi services, and Chromebooks.
